I dont remember much about the shows but i'll definitely add stuff that i remember to this, I'll remember to post what i remember in red. This is more of a review of my 2nd trip to see Spamalot
day 1 ;; Thursday - January 1st, 2009
So it was the day of my first flight on a plane ever, I had a bunch of different emotions going through me hahah. I finished up any last minute packing I needed to do, got bored and went over to my brothers and played wii for about an hour, then headed up to Port Columbus International Airport to meet up with Lauren and Anna. Met up with them, we went through the typical security checks and what not. Then we went to eat while we waited to board our flight. We ate then went and sat by our terminal number, then we were off to NYC yay. We landed at Newark Liberty Airport like five minutes before we were supposed to and had to sit on the runway while another plane unloadeod all their passengers, at this point I was so exciting thinking that I might get to see Clay at stage door that night, which didnt happen but we did get into the city safely around 8:30.
day 2 ;; Friday - January 2nd, 2009
I got up at like 8AM, got ready [after not even 20 minutes of sleep] and walked over to the Shubert Theatre to wait for the box office to open so I could get standing room tickets, which i was successful at haha. Dyan ended up coming to stand with me which was fun because I hadn't seen her in what feels like FOREVER. So, I got tickets then went back to our hotel room and basically crashed [even though i didnt take a nap haha], went back over to the shubert around 3:30 hoping Clay was doing stage door after the matinee that didnt happen. After awhile Dyan and I out to dinner at Applebee's with Meg and Laura. All I have to say is the gratuity taxes on food in NYC is crazy but the food was good [unlike that B.E.L.T in kalamazoo hahah], I about fell asleep at the table but the excitement of seeing Clay for the first time in 2009 kept me going. We went to the show, it was SO much better this run and I was glad I had 3 more shows I was going to. Evening stage door basically made 2009 for me SO much better than 2008. Clay did indeed come out to stage door, he had on his princeton hoody, blue track pants with the 2 yellow stripes and some nike shocks....My friend's Jackie, Jess, Dyan, Laura and I were to the right of the stage door and we were the first people Clay "met" with walking out the door. I asked if I could get a picture and due to the size of the crowd and people asking for autographs a posed picture didn't happen. Thanks to Jess I did happen to get a picture of him standing like right next to me which still made my life hahaha, there's video of it too but I'll let you guys go and find it. So, I went back to the hotel and crashed for the night.
day 3 ;; Saturday - January 3rd, 2009
got up at 8AM again to go over, wait for the box office to open and buy my last standing room tickets ever. Unlike friday morning I wasn't the first person there but still got tickets and finally got my closing show ticket, which was partial view but since by then i'd seen the show 6 times I knew I more than likely wasn't going to miss much. The matinee show was awesome even though I was sitting like 14 rows back, I was like dying of laughter at the most random scenes and the guy sitting next to me probably thought I was nuts but it was fun. Clay did stage door again, didn't get anything signed but didn't really plan on it haha, he was wearing his Brown u hoody and I'm pretty sure he had sweats on again. In between shows I went to dinner with Lauren, Anna and a bunch of people from FCA at John's Pizza, the place was packed but the pizza was delicious. Went to the evening show stood in SRO with Meg, gave her my sir robin poster [which im looking at as I type this hahah] and she got it signed for me [thanks again SO MUCH]. He indeed came out for stage door for the evening show too, he had on the exact same outfit he had on for the reveal of the sardi's caraicature, reports i've heard say he said he that his 'other' clothes were dirty and smelled bad but we all think he was going somewhere after the show who really knows hahah. Didn't do anything after the evening show just kind of hung out in the milford plaza lobby and talked on the phone. Suprisingly enough sleeping on the floor was SO much better than those beds the milford plaza has :-p
day 4 ;; Sunday - January 4th, 2009
The dreaded last day of closing weekend, I actually got to sleep in seeing as how I didn't have to get up and go buy tickets. I don't believe I did anything until like 30 minutes before the show, I went over to Juniors, across the alley from the shubert and met up with some fans. Stood in line with some people then I went and found the people I was looking for and stood outside with them basically until the show started haha. I sat with Dyan in the partial view box seats which I ended up sitting on the floor to get a better view of the show hahaha, I bawled my eyes out throughout most of the show. During the song before Intermission "Run Away" Clay definitely turned around and flipped the bird with both hands [he did it on saturday too but I forget which show it was] i must say I personally thought it was funny because he usually would never do something like that. During curtain call Clay was about to come out, I couldnt see him right when he came out to bow but I seriously started crying my eyes out because he came out without the wig on and I felt like he was telling the audience that he was back to "Clay Aiken - the singer" rather than the broadway actor, even if it is kind of broadway tradition for people to do stuff like that. He came out up on the roof and waved but only did so for about 10 seconds. Then we went to dinner with more FCA people at Carmines and that was really the end of it all.
day 4 ;; Monday - January 5th, 2009
I got a phone call about 15 minutes after I had woken up and by the end of it I had plans for the afternoon THANK THE LORD hahah. So, I walked around times square looking for the mcdonalds, I got a little lost but it was fine. I ate lunch at the mcd's, went back to the hotel for awhile until I got picked up by one of my friends and we drove around the city and went out to dinner. Went back to the hotel watched a miserable FIesta Bowl.
day 5 ;; Tuesday - January 6th, 2009
After going to bed at 3:45ish we got a wake-up call at 6:30, our car was going to be there at about 7:30 and we were off to Newark to fly back home. It was foggy so when we were flying it felt like we were just floating and not moving in the clouds.
and that's really about it
