This was my third Clay concert, I also saw him at the Rochester Hills JBT concert and the Detroit JNT 2006 (or whatever we kept calling that tour lol ) concert. It was amazing…just like the other two, but this show had so many special moments.
The first thing that was special for me was that Freedom Hill, where the show took place, is where my high school graduation was held about a month and a half before! It made my giddy that he was standing where I had received my diploma. I think all the other big things were obvious. All of the banter was hysterical…especially the whole bit with poor Angela and her “female problems”. I felt so bad that she was not feeling well that night. I loved how much he continued to praise all of the orchestras that we have here in Michigan, because he said the same thing about them at the Detroit Christmas show…it makes me proud to be from Michigan. Also it was really sweet when he noticed that my side of the audience was being blinded by the setting sun so he went over to one of the party decks off to the side of the middle of the audience to sing a couple songs…so we could turn around to see and not have the sun right in our eyes. The biggest moment of the concert for sure was the impromptu duet that Clay and Quiana did of Listen…It was the most amazing concert moment ever (even though I still felt bad that Angela was not well enough to perform he big solo).
The thing that made a wonderful night complete was that I got to stand in the bus handshake/touch line for my first and so far only time. He is just so gorgeous up close that he takes your breath away. When I got to touch his hand I was able to grab hold of one of his fingers for half a second at the most (all I could get was a finger since his hands are like 10x the size of mine) but it was the best ½ second ever.
That was my Evening with Clay Aiken / Soft Rock in a Hard Place/ Summer of 2007 Tour Experience.
Bring on the next tour please!!!!!
