Registered nurse Jessica, 24, and Evan, 26, an accountant, met through mutual friends in September 2006 at the Off the Wagon bar in Manhattan. "After we met, we wound up just talking on the phone all night, and then started dating," said Jessica, "and we've been together ever since."
The Brooklyn couple decided to get married a year into the relationship, while on a cruise, and made it "official" in July 2007. "Evan said we should get married, and I said that sounds good," she said. "We decided to make it official with a night out at a romantic dinner. We went in and ordered Champagne, and the waitress said, 'Did you two just get engaged? You're beaming!' And Evan said, 'Well, we're getting engaged right now.'
"I had always wanted my grandmother's engagement ring, and he gave it to me that night, but then he bought me my own ring, too, so I have two rings."
Jessica walked down the aisle with her father. She wore a Jasmine Bridal Couture gown and carried a bouquet of ivory calla lilies and black magic roses to match the burgundy and ivory color scheme.
A celebration for 250 was held at Russo's on the Bay. The couple chose two songs for the big day: "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts and "Love of My Life" by Clay Aiken. The couple gave out crystal ice buckets filled with bottles of Grey Goose vodka, and also had a signature drink for the affair named "Off the Wagon." During the reception, Jessica serenaded Evan with the tune "There You Are" by Martina McBride. "It was amazing, every moment is embedded in my mind as a great memory," said Jessica. "We had 12 entrees, a Venetian hour with cotton candy, French toast, candy apples, a chocolate fountain, anything you could imagine but, best of all, we had a great time." The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in St. Lucia.Jessica Macey & Evan Wagner
