My 13th Clay Aiken concert and i loved every minute of it!!!!! As yall know i went to 2 CITH tour shows since i dont really feel like writing two reviews for the same show just on different dates here's my recollection of the cleveland show. We got up to Cleveland around noon, got to the hotel and there was absolutely no sign of a parking lot that was accessiable, so we paid for a wicked expensive valet, which was cool because it only took about 5 minutes for the guys to bring out the car.
So we got checked into the hotel, everything was set, we actually ended up next door to one of our newer Central Ohio Clay Fan committee members, who had never heard of Clay before this summer's Columbus concert it was pretty funny.
So I went over to the bus about 15 minutes after we got settled in, and the location of the buses was just about 5 minutes from where we were staying, i walked over to the buses and stood there for about two hours. Saw Jesse and Jerome, but no one else, i was out there mainly waiting to see Clay's cousin Jamie. But I didnt see her unfortunately, she was taking Angie to the airport to fly back home for a funeral [R.I.P whom ever died]. I talked to a fan friend of mine on the phone while i was out there and Durham started barking at me right when i stepped foot by the bus he must have remembered me from kalamazoo haha.
So I went back to the hotel, took a shower, hung out, got dressed and went to dinner at Star Restraunt with a bunch of other fans. I didn't stay very long, i ate. After i ate, my friend Ally called me and I met up with her at the buses, we got to talk to Jerome for a bit, he told us we better get inside before we got too cold and all that.
So I went to the venue and hung out with one of my friends until they opened the doors to the seats, I went and found my seats, which were beyond amazing i might add!!! 4th row next to the lady who was our neighbor at the hotel haha. Saw pretty much everyone from the Central Ohio group, we all were sitting in the first fifteen rows, spread out all over the place. Felt like a huge family reunion. Lights went down and the show started...
Jesus Medley
O Come O Come Emmanuel - GREAT song to begin the show off. I love the subtle but big entrance, as soon as he popped in from under the back platform the audience went wild
O Little Town Of Bethlehem - tender, yet sweet! Really felt the emotion he put into it. Yet another great song
Away In A Manger - Quiana: For being the only back up singer for this show, she REALLY stepped it up, sounded amazing!
Mary Did You Know -
stunning, seeing as how i was sitting like 5 feet away from the speaker it was a little bit too loud.
Merry Christmas with Love-
But it got really quiet when he said "the carolers sang as she opened the door, to faces of friends in the crowd" Overall you could tell it was really really heart felt
Jazz Medley - MY FAVORITE PART haha
It's The Most Wonderful Time Of the Year- This is the point in the show where i think his true personality starts to come out. He has so much fun with this
Sleigh Ride- the giddy up part is always so adorable, watching his face when he does it,
Jingle Bells- If i would have closed my eyes during this song i could have sworn both Quiana and Angie were there. They both got into the song, so much so that when the "laughing all the way *HA HA HA*" part came Quiana sort of rushed it and clay laughed it was really cute
Winter Wonderland- the more subdue song in this medley. AH SAID A WALKIN IN A WINTER WONDERLAAAAAAAAAAAND
Who Would Imagine A King- Where to begin about this song, even though it's Angie's solo for the show, Quiana covered for her since she was absent. Quiana definitely blew the roof of the theatre and she looked stunning
Welcome To Our World- omg, he sounded so emotional during this song. Amy Grant watch your back cause i definately think clay stole the song from you vocally.
INTERMISSION
O Holy Night- great like always. This song always shows off his vocal range, the way he sang it you would think Jesus was standing right in front of him
Sentimental Medley
Hark the Herald Angel Sing- great
I'll Be Home For Christmas- such an emotional song, i dont see how he gets through singing it every night with out tearing up just a little bit. seeing as how he wont be home for christmas
The Christmas Song- heard this song done by so many people but i LOVE his version
Have Yourselves A Merry Little Christmas- the icing on the cake for me completely. I had 4th row seats, when the music for this song started he looked over at me and sang the first line of it to me. Gahhhhhhhhhhh i love him
Where Are You Christmas- Q's second solo of the night, GREAT such an emotional song too but she sounded AMAZING
My Grown Up Christmas List- l'ghsk;hgklfhglkdfhgdf another one of my favorites, the way he sings it, it always feel like he's talking to you personally even though he's just up on stage singing it to the lord
Don't Save It All For Christmas Day- OHMYDEARGAWD!!!!!! The way he sings no the way he SANGS this song on this tour is osdgsd;gkdksg, he doesnt hint at the fact that he is going to go up into his high FALSETTO but when it gets to the part that goes "find a way-aaaaa" it always gets a HUGE reaction from the crowd. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING
ENCORE
All Is Well- again another OUTSTANDING song. In Kalamazoo he cut it short and his voice cracked. But for me in Cleveland he definately redeemed himself. Hit that note spot on and even held it a little longer than normal i'd say. The part that always pulls at my heart string is after he sings the glory note at the end is how all 4 spotlights are on his mic, they actually left the spotlights on for about ten minutes after the show. Gives me chills every single time
